• Explain treatment procedures, medication risks, special diets and physician instructions to patients.
• Educate patients in regards to unit policies, medications, possible side effects, diagnosis, signs and symptoms of exacerbation, positive copings skills.
• Initiate disciplinary actions of ancillary staff .
• Make staffing schedule for facility.
• Attend treatment team along with the psychiatrist, case manager, and therapist to discuss patient's progression/ regression and discharge plans.
• Round daily .
• Type MAR's for medication administration.
• Audit, maintain, organize and update patient charts.
• Transcribe orders and insure orders are followed.
• Screen patients along with program director to determine if patient meet criteria for admission to facility.
• Admissions/discharges.
• Conduct Teleconference with Psychiatrist.
• Conduct group/individual therapy with patients.
• Administer psychotropic medications PO and injections as ordered or PRN for agitation
