Represented classified employees by negotiating beneficial contracts, salary increases and benefits. Worked with individual chapters to help them build their union. During political periods I was closely involved with school board elections for different chapters, goal to either elect classified friendly board members or replace classified non-friendly board members.

While employed with Tulare County Office of Education (TCOE), I worked with another classified who was the chapter president of chapter 428 (Laurie Melton) I then discovered the passion of being a union member and assisting the chapter grow with her guidance My last year with TCOE I was elected the new Chapter President and worked closely with our assigned LRR (Joel Jimenez) and found my new goal, to be a LRR and do the work that I loved to do representing the classified membership
FFO also helped me increase my skills but working on projects during election season, etc while on CSEA paid release time
I also was a CSEA classified member for 17 years prior to working for CSEA. I've seen this in many CSEA staff, there is an advantage to work for CSEA when you come from the membership and had been active within your own chapter.
