Hello, my name is Naromi Momoh. Currently I am the school counselor for a nonprofit organization called Catholic Community Services of Utah. I have been working as a school counselor for one and a half years now. While working this job, I have developed mental health first aid skills, Microsoft 365 Suite, setting up zoom and in person meetings, outbound calls, working with youth from different backgrounds and statuses, levels of education and English skills. Being a school counselor has taught me public speaking, advocacy, working with different schools and districts along with working with social workers, therapists and families. What I love most about my work is using my interpersonal skills to provide support, comfort and care to youth who are figuring out what their future career and educational goals are along with how to use their skills and knowledge to the best of their abilities. Active listening, understanding, patience, goal setting, open minded questions and validation are processes I use in my day to day work. What I am looking for in my next job is a place that will push my knowledge and skills and be rewarded for it. A place that will provide leadership opportunities , innovative and supportive work environment along with advanced training and development.
