Chief Swann, 2060 15th Ave S, Nashville, TN, 37212, I come to you with extreme interest in the firefighter recruit position with the city of Nashville. I am coming to you guys with a passion to help and serve the public. With a background in hospital emergency medicine, I believe my skills and experience would make me an excellent candidate. Having worked in the emergency room setting for the past year as an ER Technician, I have learned a tremendous amount of skills that I believe will only benefit your department. As a very experienced EMT and one exam away from earning my Advanced EMT I feel like I have gained the extremely crucial skills and knowledge of what it takes to provide the quality of care the Nashville Fire Department is looking for. Furthermore, I have dedicated two years of school to earn a degree in Fire Technology/Suppression from Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada. In addition, I was a collegiate baseball player at Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, California where I was a two-year catcher. I believe being a catcher has made me who I am today. I had to take charge of my team because I had vision of the entire field and I believe having a larger vision will help me assess dangerous situations on the job. I have been playing competitive sports since I was six years old and I know my competitive edge will also be a great asset for your department. In addition to baseball, during my time at Los Medanos College, I also completed an Associates Degree in Communications, and another in Liberal Arts that guaranteed me admission into any California State University of higher education. I passed on that opportunity because I knew I wanted to dedicate my time to a job I knew was my dream. After Completing my Degree at TMCC and LMC, my girlfriend and I decided to make the move to middle Tennessee to be closer to our family. They reside in Williamson County in the greater Franklin area. I immediately fell in love with middle Tennessee as it reminded me of my hometown, Walnut Creek, California. My grandfather retired as a Captain from Alameda Fire Department and his dad was a firefighter for FDNY. I have been immersed in the fire service since I was a little boy. I always loved the sense of brotherhood and family that the fire service displayed. With determination to make this community a better place, and with incredible ability to stay calm in stressful situations and with a love for public service, I thank you for considering my application. I eagerly await to move forward in the process. Please find my resume attached., Sincerely, Nash Rudy
