Over my high school years, I was in my school girls basketball team (Burges High School). While I was in the team, my coaches and teammates showed me the way of bettering my communication, teamwork, leadership skills. When we would have games we would work on the concessions stands where we sold food and sometimes selling the tickets. It has shown me how to deal with cash, having an engagement with the customers, being respectful and I’m forever grateful for my coaches for showing me the real world.

My whole life I’ve learned how to be patience and understanding with other people, because thanks to my brother. My brother who is older to me has down syndrome, ever since I was a kid I’ve always taken care of him or helped my mother in a way. Now that I’m older, I have become a mother to him in a way, he shown me that I need to be strong and show that I can do anything in this world.
