Created And Run Campus Activities
Discover Santiago - First day of seventh grade, without 8th grade students, 7th graders get to experience all that Santiago has to offer them for the year. Students get their schedules and proceed to the amphitheater for an opening assembly. Throughout the day they get a campus tour, briefly attend their classes to meet their teachers, and participate in rotations. Rotations include team building activities, a mini dance/LOL (lunch on the lawn activities), tolerance info and activities, as well as campus activity highlights and a Q&A session with current ASB President. The day ends with an assembly and a treat. I coordinate this entire day and prepare the staff.
Campus Book Tasting -Dr. Seuss Read Across America Day - ASB students create book themed tables including menus, centerpieces, book pairings, and dinner mints. All English classes visit and rotate to different tables where they hear a book talk given by an ASB student and hear an excerpt read aloud. I facilitate this with the ASB students.
6th Grade Visits -Each year the local feeder elementary schools send their 6th grade students for a morning at Santiago. Students are greeted by ASB, take two campus tours in classrooms, and attend an assembly. I coordinate this day with the appropriate office personnel and disseminate information to 7th grade teachers.
