Work History
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Ruohula-Baker Lab, University of Washington
Seattle, United States
03.2021 - 07.2021
Conducted research with the goal of exploring how de novo designed fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mini-binder proteins modulate cell signaling as well as how receptor valency and geometry affect signaling outcomes by using protein scaffolds incorporating the de novo designed FGFR binding module
Designed and conducted experiments to determine activation of common, downstream tyrosine-kinase receptor signaling targets in HUVEC reporter cells treated with FGFR or EGFR binding proteins
Determined through western blot analysis that the FGFR mini-binder inhibits FGFR signaling and the EGFR mini-binder inhibits EGFR signaling
Protein scaffold incorporating FGFR mini-binders inhibited FGFR signaling with much higher potency.
Undergraduate Research Assistant
UW Male Fertility Lab, University of Washington
Seattle, United States
04.2021 - 07.2021
Conducted research with the goal of examining the localization of Zona Pellucida binding proteins (ZPBP) 1 and 2 in human spermatozoa
Performed experiments to view and compare localization patterns of ZPBP1 and ZPBP2 on ethanol extracted sperm as well as on acrosome reacted sperm using primary antibodies, fluorescently labeled secondary antibodies and fluorescence microscopy
Performed the first known localization of ZBP1 and ZPBP2.
Junior Health Scholar
Swedish Hospital
Seattle, United States
10.2016 - 01.2020
Gained firsthand experience in both clinical and administrative healthcare settings
Assisted with basic care for patients along with nurses, physicians, and other members of the care delivery team.
Conference Coordinator
Full Time Training in Anaheim
Anaheim, United States
12.2023 - 04.2024
Coordinated with a team of 20 to plan and facilitate an international conference for several thousand Christian leaders
Assisted specifically with meal planning, preparation and presentation.
