Work History

RN

Northwest Specialty Hospital
Post Falls, ID
04.2016 - 04.2016
  • Pre-op nursing position: preparing patients for surgery included starting IVs, drawing blood for missing or necessary labs. evaluating charts for necessary EKGs, medications that may be contraindicated for surgery, reviewing history, and confirming signed consent.
  • Assisting and medicated pts for blocks.
  • Monitoring pts under conscious sedation.
  • Working close with other staff and communicating needs. Due to the fast pace environment it’s important to work collaboratively.

RN Floor Nurse

Valley General Hospital
Spokane Valley, Washington
02.2008 - 04.2015
  • The position at Valley General hospital was Float Pool. I floated to all general floors including PCU, ICU, ER, and out patient surgery. During this time I also floated to Deaconess Hospital and floated only to general floors at their facility.
  • My favorite place to work was the ER because of the autonomy it has in the nature of that work. I also enjoy the fast pace and encouraging energetic staff. Being that IVs are one of my favorite skills in nursing I feel I can use and offer a skill that others may not enjoy so much. Not only IVs but I do love to use many other skills in nursing that I get to do in the ER.

Second year at SHMC in Spokane was on cardiac step down unit.

  • I am a mother of 8 healthy energetic children.
  • I love the out doors  including winter sports as snowboarding and sledding with kids. In the summer I love hiking, boating, swimming, camping, and gardening of corse always integrating these activities with the family.
  • My passion over all is food. Health is forever a life goal since I got diagnosed with celiac 17yrs ago. Real organic food made incredibly delicious with simple ingredients is always a challenge I’m looking forward to take.
  • I love being a nurse because it taught me life skills I use every day. since I work part time usually I am able to offer an uplifting heart since it is a break from the very fast pace of my home. I love being a nurse also because I feel privileged that I can be in people’s lives when they are sometimes the most vulnerable and I can be there to support and coach them through that fearful time.
