Nuclear Facility Services Supervisor/ Manager

Currently responsible for the daily operations of 48 individuals providing facility services to various nuclear manufacturing facilities, laboratory and office complexes throughout the Y-12 Nuclear Security Site. In addition to supervising this team, routinely serve as acting Senior Section Manager and manage 7 other supervisors and their teams. Duties include or have included the following:

  • Supervising the daily activities of assigned team(s), managing operations, providing safety and security guidance and briefings
  • Led the radiological laundry department overseeing 2 multi-million-dollar contracts and acted as the sub-contract technical representative
  • Continuous Improvement element team lead, teaching others about Lean concepts, conducting Lean projects and evaluating areas and analyzing processes to implement Lean programs
  • Researching new, innovative products that can be utilized by assigned team
  • Work heavily involves Dept of Energy Integrated Safety Management System, Job Hazard Analysis, safety risk management and mitigation, accident investigation, root-cause analysis, collaborative safety and much more in the scope of safety-related work in an industrial nuclear environment
