volunteerting at UCLA Hospital as a patient care coordinator

Im blessed to work in the pediatrics unit for ages 2-10 at UCLA Santa Monica Hospital. We know its hard for kids to be stuck in the hospital. Many have little to no support from families who might not to be able to visit. This can be very isolating on top of it being hard being in a hospital.

We try to make their stay healing by involving different activates from them to choose from. We offer a buch of toys, arts and crafts, movie rentals games , or board game they can play with us as the patient care coordinators. To make sure the kids can get through this hard admission . We bring what kids want to their rooms and offer to sit with them or play with them. We check in every few hours to check if the have all the crafts and distractions they need.
