Bussing at a nice restaurant was much more challenging than what I was used to at my first job. It was faster-paced and had more customers, which made me accustomed to all types of customers and coworkers. My attention to detail was also much higher while working here because I wanted to depict our restaurant in a respectable light. I enjoyed my time working here, and it taught me many things about working and customer service skills. I now have an understanding that not everyone you meet or work with will be pleasant, but instead, I have learned to cooperate and put differences aside to get our work done and keep customers happy. Being new to working at this job sets an example of what it is like to have a balance between life and work. Working with older people was very rewarding, and I made many personal connections with the people living there. Because older folks are hard of hearing and sometimes grumpy I made sure to be extra patient with them and show them compassion because I would want the same for myself as I grow old and harder to care for. My duties consisted of:
