My Latin teacher nominated me for the Advanced Latin Award at my school for my dedication to taking time both in and out of class to understanding the Latin language, collaborating with my peers on several projects and presentations, and my overall participation in not just my own Latin class but also lower tier Latin classes. The goal of Latin class is not to become fluent, but instead improve your understanding of the English Language through learning its origin, improving critical thinking skills, and interpreting how language is affected by society; in those things, I was told that I excelled, and that was why I was ultimately chosen to be the recipient of the award.
