I was born and raised in Mulino, Oregon, and am a 3rd generation Japanese-American with 16 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level (11 as a head coach). As a minority, I have fought hard within this profession to achieve what I have and am proud not just of what I have been able to accomplish, but that I have been able to have a part in helping grow diversity for young women within the game of softball and provide others with similar opportunities as this game has given me.
I am detail-oriented, and am very good with numbers have degrees in mathematics and mathematics education, and taught math at the high school and collegiate levels for 8 years.
My track record shows that I am a successful leader that develops individuals as people, students and athletes. I have proven record of success at every school I have coached at. I have successfully implemented my offensive system at every level of collegiate softball. In my 16 years as a collegiate coach I have coached 48 athletes that have been selected to the all-conference team, 17 all-region athletes, and 6 all-americans.
In my time at Nevada, I have played a major role in recruiting and developing the student-athletes that are current team members, and that are committed and currently being recruited in future classes. This program is set up to be very successful within my system this season, and in years beyond. My goal is to win a Mtn. West Conference championship in the 2024 season, and I believe that we have the personnel, coaching staff, culture, and system in place to do that.
I have a love for the University of Nevada, care deeply about this softball program, its players and their success.
