Construction Supervisor

Myself
Sesser, IL
04.2011 - 02.2014

Successfully operated a small construction company. I come from a family of builders. I completed my first job with pay at the age of 13 years old. The customer was extremely pleased. I finished ahead of schedule and under budget on the project. He immediately contracted me and scheduled a larger job. I have built anything you could want or imagine. I have constructed garages from breaking ground to completion. I will erect the framework, set the needed trusses, apply the decking, lay shingles and complete the roof. I do walls with any insulation that will meet the customer needs .I can install vinyl siding. I have built dozens of pole barns with metal siding and roofs all depending on customer specifications. I have completely remodeled the interior of homes. I can do everything from cabinets, flooring, drywall, bathrooms and even your kitchen sink if requested. Whatever your needs I would complete it. I have basic electrical and plumbing knowledge. If the job needs complex work in these two areas I can help. When needed I would find subcontractors that will do the job correctly and at a fair price.

Commercial Account Specialist

AutoZone
Mt. Vernon, IL
03.2008 - 04.2011
  • Originally hired as a evening parts sales manager. After a few months of consistently out selling anyone in store I was presented with an opportunity to try and revive a dying commercial program. When I took control they had 9 accounts and on average had 2,500-5,000 sales a month. In the two years I had control of the commercial department I personally opened and maintained 42 accounts. I started with one delivery truck and driver. Finished with 3 full time delivery drivers. Consistently averaged 65,000-90,000 a month in sales. I maintained and solved any issues my accounts had. I had weekly conference calls with upper management to report sales numbers and see where we placed in the region. I identified any issues along with my plan to solve them. I was in charge of developing my employees across the board. I developed a program that focused on safety and customer service. While maintaining company culture we achieved the highest level of customer service possible. I did this through commitment and accountability. I coached, mentored and corrected where it was needed. Everyday I strived to bring a better version of myself to my team and demanded the same in return. Doing so allowed me to foster a level of success my area had never seen. I eventually seen methods I developed successfully adopted across a tri-state area and the improvement that followed
  • Achieved growth and hit sales targets by successfully maintaining and developing commercial sales. Developed new accounts through face to face and telephone contact with potential customers.
  • Acted as the primary contact for commercial customers; Actively maintained open lines of communication between AutoZone and commercial customers.

  • Maintained a safe working environment while ensuring AutoZoners were implementing those practices including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

  • Properly maintained vehicles and took the necessary steps to report any vehicle maintenance issues

Printing Press Operator/Supervisor

Technicolor
Pinckneyville, IL
09.2002 - 03.2008
  • I started in the manual production line. After a year I was promoted to lead stocker. My responsibilities were to provide everything needed to run specific orders. I would follow work orders making sure all supplies needed were in correct positions so the line never stopped. I was then promoted to a lead role in the shipping department. I would receive a shipping order and use forklifts or electric pallet jacks to pick up skids of finished product. I would wrap skids and use our shipping computer to generate labels making sure everything was correct. I was the last line of proofing before the product would reach customers. I then was promoted to replication for my attention to detail. In this department I operated KAYMMANN machines. I would set up multiple screens depending on design and color specifications. I learned a total of 11 machines in our department. I was then promoted to quality control and finished at printing press supervisor. My experience in replication and quality control helped me communicate key issues to the operators. I corrected anything needed to produce a quality product for the customer. It was here I developed the foundation that would lead to my continued success in supervisory roles. After training was completed my job specifications changed to include the following.
  • Hired, trained and managed shift personnel. Scheduled to ensure shift is operating at peak efficiency.
  • Ensured any equipment issues are resolved quickly, minimizing production down-time; advised senior site manager of any issues which could not be resolved within a reasonable timeframe.
