Prepare rehearsal studio by gathering set furniture, props and costumes.
Spend copious hours months prior to performances to rehearse with cast and crew, taking note of every technical detail director wants implemented in production.
Run entire shows during performances via headset. Examples of tasks completed during this endeavor include calling curtain to open and close, instructing crew on when to initiate scene change, resolving any obstacle that interferes with operations, and reviewing each technical detail after performances to ensure future events run smoothly—all but latter taking place during lively, high-intensity live theater production.
Collaborate with technical crew and cast to safeguard presentation of artistic vision.
Work with director to develop effective use of rehearsal times.
Enforce safety measures due to potential stage equipment hazards.
Remain composed and highly professional in fast-paced and constantly changing environment, effectively handling challenging situations and difficult individuals to achieve objectives.
Participate in meetings with producers and production crew to keep program in step with creative vision.
Alleviate issues between actors on set to keep projects running smoothly and efficiently.
Resolve issues quickly to maintain productivity goals.
Manage continuous improvement initiatives to drive gains in quality, flow and output.
