I am a twenty-one-old double major student in political science and psychology. My goal, once earning a doctorate in political psychology, is to perform research in my desired field. Here, I would like to be able to use psychological research and theories, along with applying various quantitative methods, to political and other social domains.
I have published over sixty articles for my college newspaper, with a primary focus on state and national news. In addition to my reporting work, I manage a team of reporters who cover a wide range of topics. As a journalist, I prioritize gathering information from diverse perspectives to create balanced and detailed coverage. My work has been republished across New Mexico in outlets such as Source New Mexico, the Alamogordo Daily News, and the Albuquerque Journal, the largest newspaper in the state. Notably, an investigative article I wrote on the University of New Mexico’s investments was featured on the front page of the Albuquerque Journal on July 6, 2024.
I was employed as a server in a popular Albuquerque restaurant. As a server, I handled high-intensity situations and worked alongside a team. At The Range Cafe, I developed a strong work ethic by working long shifts to pay for my education.
The Greenside Cafe served as my first job in which I learned how to organize my time, lead a team, and develop my interpersonal skills. I first started at sixteen as a host and graduated to a server two years later.
CIA Analytic Mentorship Program 2024-2025
The program will taught me valuable written and verbal communication and critical thinking skills necessary to be a CIA analyst. As part of the program, I am mentored by a CIA analyst who specializes in a similar field that I am pursuing to develop a “brief” that I will give to CIA senior officials at the end of the year.
2024 National Security Analysis and Intelligence Summer Seminar (NSAISS)
I was selected for the CIA’s Analytic Mentorship Program for the 2024–2025 year, where I developed critical thinking, writing, and analysis skills essential to the intelligence profession. I was mentored by a CIA analyst specializing in decision-making — a political psychology area I intend to explore further. During the program, I developed an interest in improving intelligence decision making through scientific computational means.
Cooking - Since living independently at 18, I have learned to express my creativity through cooking by trying a new dish every week. My Louisiana Cajun heritage makes a strong appearance in my cooking through my use of celery, bell pepper, and garlic which aids in dishes such as jambalaya and gumbo.
Reading - I am a natural and passionate learner who loves to read. In my downtime, I typically read nonfiction, philosophy, or science fiction.
Exercise - In spring of 2023, I began exercising at my college gym to increase my strength and sharpen my focus. My hour and a half workout completed five times a week in combination with my weight-gain dieting program require self-discipline, a skill I constantly work to improve.
