An Educational Therapist is another name for a Special Education Teacher at Elam Alexander Academy
While working there I was the History Special Education General Curriculum teacher, within that realm I taught grade level 9-12 along with teaching American Government, World History, Economics, Geography, and US History
As a first-year teacher there was some adjusting that I had to overcome, but with my time at Elam I’ve learned how to manage many different emotions that students with Emotional Behavioral Disorders and Other Health Impairments
I work with students to teach them understanding history and I also write, amend, and participate in IEP’s that better help the students that I serve.

During my time at Elam, I have learned a tremendous number of helpful tips and information about teenagers with different disabilities and I have learned how to approach those different perspectives on life that they are living
I work with documenting data on the students about their behavior, I also work with students to come up with ways that they could have handled a situation better than how they originally handled it
Along with this job I have learned a quite a bit about Special Education and the different approaches that educators take to make sure students with disabilities can understand the content being taught to them.
