At my time with Foster and Son Concrete, I was in charge of mixing and finishing the concrete. I would be raking the concrete. Then, I would finish the concert and manage, trail, and edge the concrete.
- Operated power vibrators to compact concrete into place.
- Mixed, poured and spread concrete using a variety of tools including trowels, floats and screeds.
- Measured and cut reinforcing steel bars in order to reinforce the structure.
- Leveled and smoothed freshly placed concrete with a straight edge or float.
- Finished surfaces by hand-troweling or machine-troweling for a smooth finish.
- Assisted in setting up formwork prior to pouring concrete.
- Applied hardening compounds to protect the surface from weathering and staining.
- Inspected work sites to ensure that all safety protocols were followed.
- Sprayed curing compound on newly finished surfaces as needed.
- Repaired damaged areas of existing concrete structures using appropriate materials.
- Positioned wire mesh and rebar to reinforce concrete.
- Poured concrete into forms using pump hose and leveled.
- Finished surfaces by troweling, floating and brushing following project requirements and specifications.
