Peafowl behavioral observation with Jessica Yorzinski, Ph.D (130 hours).

  • Determine the dominance of a group of 30 peafowl (11 males, 19 females. Outside exposed to extreme elements)
  • Observe and record peafowl interactions (peck, displace, hop) through encouraged behavior (sustenance) or by simple observation
  • Isolate dyads and see which is dominant between the two
  • Ensure that there is at least 2-3 interaction per dyad and dominance is obvious
  • After all data was accounted for, a matrix through microsoft excel was compiled to represent the most dominant to the least dominant individuals regardless of sex
