Over 13 years of tenure in AT&T starting as a RAN performance engineer for San Diego and Hawaii markets’ 2G GSM and 3G UMTS cellular networks

  • Monitored key performance metrics to ensure compliance with market operating range and that sudden deviations are investigated, diagnosed and corrected promptly
  • Built custom performance-trending tools using MS Access and Excel with VBA programming to enable market engineers to efficiently monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Triaged acute and chronic issues impacting network performance - specifically those causing dropped calls, call failures, low throughput and other quality-related problems - which involved in-depth root cause analysis of end-to-end systems and drivetest data
  • Closely coordinated with peers from across organization in order to resolve issues that could originate from any point in call flow

Transferred to national HQ position in 2016 to the team that develops, publishes and maintains official mobility network scorecards for LTE and 5G-NSA and 5G-SA networks

  • Worked closely with equipment vendors to develop measures that quantify customer experience as accurately as possible using available node counters and CDR (call record) events
  • Tested and validated node counters and CDR error codes which are used in formulas that calculate dropped call rate, block rate, throughput and other key metrics for both voice and data services
  • Used Tableau and Power BI to created/publish several data-visualization dashboards which are then perused both for leadership reporting and engineer-level investigations of specific network scenarios
  • Created Tableau workbooks that query data from Snowflake backend and provide insights as to which network elements are driving national composite scores by quantifying their contribution to aggregated totals
