    • Daily Duties
    • Representative and Random Sampling: Drawing representative samples of finished product agricultural commodities such as Pitted plums, raisins (retail, and bulk), Imported Dates, IFQ diced peaches, IFQ diced strawberries, frozen vegetables (Broccoli), and Canned Apricots, and Olives. As per U.S grade standards, contract specified, or otherwise as stated.
    • Representative and Random Sampling of MRE products such as Pound cakes, and FFT.
    • Grading: Examining finished product stated above to determine quality, Grade ( A or Better) condition and compliance to U.S Grade Standards or as per stated contract conditions ( such as MRE). Filling accurate, and legible grading sheets for above commodities, by considering such as: color, product size, shape, quality factors (blemished, cuts, trim, quality defects, taste, visual, taste, and smell).
    • Notify supervisor if the product is not meeting Grade A specifications at the end of the grading process.
    • Inspect In-Plant sanitation: Inspect plant processing equipment for in-plant sanitation prior to work start, document on Sanitation score sheet for Operational Ration Processing Plants. Note sanitation deficiencies, show ratings (minor, major, or critical), and describe. Notify Plant supervisor personnel of these short coming and have them corrected prior to work commencement depending on each individual deficiency. Report any issues to higher SCI officials if plant or operation is not in compliance.
    • Training: Trained other inspectors, or new hires who are working for the first time at a new task. This includes how to samples, and perform in-plant sanitation prior or during production of the agricultural commodity or MRE product.
    • Certificate of Loading: issue certificate of loading based upon USDA contract purchases to venders. This includes visual and written load inspections, verification of product certificate issued by local office on commodity being loaded, seal placement on load, and physical presence at the time of loading from start to finish.
