• Pursued US Clinical experiences for six months in Houston Methodist, Jackson Park, Stony Brook Southampton, FIU, Larkins, and the University of Alabama - Participated in pre-rounding, rounding, social work rounds, sign-outs and attended online lectures, conferences, and case presentations involving fellows, residents, and attending physicians.
• Experienced in-patient and out-patient clinic settings in the US. Took part in demonstration of insulin tandem pumps on patients, ETT, EKGs, insertion simulation, and learnt about Video-Remote Interpreting Software andUSG-guided central line placements. Helped residents prepare discharge notes. Assisted in performing Cardiac Echo and helped insert an adhesive during venous ablation procedure. Gained technical expertise in maneuvering patient EMR.
• Participated in night duties in an emergency setting in Shirva and volunteered to treat patients with common ailments as the sole intern in some more villages during my medical school in India. Volunteered daily at the Community Health Centre in Shirva Village, Udupi district (rural), providing essential healthcare services. Served as sole doctor during night shifts in an emergency setting, ensuring medical access for underprivileged communities. Formulated medical therapy after antenatal-chart assessments for pregnant women and referred cases to higher centers when necessary.
• Vaccinated children and assessed their growth charts and developmental milestones in Kundapura Town.
• Completed a 4-week elective in the outpatient and inpatient Cardiology department at Houston Methodist Hospital. Performed EKGs, conducted history and physicals for up to 8 patients each day in the clinic, reviewed their medications, interpreted lab results, and discussed the differential diagnoses and management plans of patients with diverse cardiac pathologies. Gained valuable experience analyzing MIBI and Doppler of various major vascular arteries and helped the Echo tech perform Cardiac Echos on outpatients. Observed the LAA closure procedure using an Amulet device, the insertion of a Cardiac Contractility Modulation device, Coronary stent placements, CABG, and various other interventional procedures. Recorded AICD and Pacemaker recordings in patients using different transmitters (ABBOTT/St. Jude Medical, Medtronic, and Boston Specific). Also learned to identify any aberrations in the recordings, thus requiring alterations in management.
• Completed a 4-week rotation in the Internal Medicine department of the inpatient setting at Jackson Park Hospital. Conducted thorough history and performed physical examinations on admitted patients on medicine and med-psychiatry floors. Educated the junior medical students about their roles and responsibilities at the hospital when they joined, thus ensuring a smoother transition and seamless medical care. Arranged follow-ups for discharged patients with suitable PCPs and ensured their outpatient medication compliance. Catered to the underserved communities in South Chicago presenting with various disorders of substance abuse, elderly abuse, STDs, and medication non-compliance issues.
• Completed a 4-week rotation in the Internal Medicine department of the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital inpatient setting. Learned how to maneuver and interact with Video-Remote Interpreting Software and facilitated seamless patient care by conducting H and P on several patients speaking Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, and Persian. Evaluated patients' charts, followed up on the progress of 5 patients, and carried out H and P along with case presentations from top to bottom of 2 new patients to the team daily. Assisted the PGYs in Medication Reconciliation by communicating with the patients' local pharmacies and close ones. Performed MoCA, MMSE, and PHQ-9 assessments on several admitted patients.
• Completed a 4-week elective in the outpatient Endocrinology department at Larkin Community Hospital. Worked with a culturally diverse patient population, including Hispanics, Africans, Asians, and Caucasians, gaining insights into the cultural diversity of patient groups in the U.S. Took part in problem-solving assessments related to Endocrinology Board topics.

• Completed a 4-week US Clinical experience at FIU in the department of Pulmonology. Learned USG-guided central and arterial line placement and participated in medical simulations for ETT insertions. Updatedventilator settings (VC/PC/PS) for ICU patients based on ABG analysis under RPN guidance. Engaged in didactic sessions, case conferences, and educational brainstorming focused on complex respiratory disorders. Successfully performed procedures on ICU-admitted patients, including ABG sampling, sterile urinary catheterization, and IV cannulation. Assisted during code blue events by performing CPR and ETT insertion.
• Completed a 6-week rotation in Internal Medicine at a tertiary academic healthcare center, Kasturba Hospital. Managed and coordinated care for up to 10 inpatients daily, updated labs in the EMR, and presented patient progress, suggested investigations, and treatment plans to the resident team and attending physician. Facilitated the admission and continued care of patients from diverse financial backgrounds, ensuring appropriate guidance under various government insurance schemes.
• Transported bed-confined patients to the OR, post-op, and other hospital locations during an OBG Medical Internship at Kasturba Hospital. Interpreted ultrasound scan reports and recorded Biophysical profile (BPP) scores during Antepartum surveillance.
• Served as a mentor for junior medical students struggling with exams, providing weekly teaching sessions. Offered a safe and supportive environment for students to share concerns related to academics, relationships, or personal challenges.
