  • Commanding Officer Citation (December 2018) - Placed in charge of the AMR-1 Pump room, Nehemiah successfully preserved one of the most difficult areas of the ship to maintain. He assisted with the purging of air and non-condensable gasses from the ship's storage refrigeration plant, allowing the ship to maintain food stores to support feeding the crew during patrol operations. His qualification of Helms and Planes was vital to the watchbill flexibility required in support of Midshipmen Operations.


  • Submarine Qualification Certificate (June 30th, 2019) - Successful completion of the rigorous professional requirements for qualification in submarines, having gained thorough knowledge of submarine construction and operation, having demonstrated reliability under stress, and having full confidence and trust of Commander Luther, commanding officer of the USS Henry M. Jackson.


  • US Navy Rear Admiral Citation for Blue Jacket of the Quarter (August 31st, 2020) - Petty Officer Da Silva consistently performed his demanding duties in an exemplary and highly professional manner. He completed over 400 hours of calibration maintenance, successfully achieving and maintaining a 100% completion rating for all Auxiliary Division calibration items. During Patrol 99, he assisted with vital at sea repairs of the Stern Diving Hydraulic plant pump discharge relief valve. His superior performance of duty has set the standard for his peers and resulted in his selection as USS Henry M. Jackson's Blue Jacket of the Quarter, First Quarter 2020.


  • Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (October 31st, 2020) - As Gauge Calibration Petty Officer, Nehemiah took ownership of a neglected program and systematically calibrated and adjusted over 50 pieces of overdue calibration equipment, including 20 pieces of test and measuring diagnostic equipment, 6 pressure switches, and 12 mechanical gauges. His superior attention to detail was critical to an administrative revision that identified and corrected the inaccurate tracking of over 100 calibration items, enabling Auxiliary Division to maintain a 100% rating on all calibration equipment. Petty Officer Da Silva has undoubtedly proven his managerial ability, personal initiative, and unswerving devotion to duty.


  • A-Ganger of the Year 2022 of the USS Henry M. Jackson (SSBN 730) BLUE, presented by the Bremerton-Olympic Peninsula Council Navy League of the United States


  • Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (June 11th, 2022) - As Battle Board Coordinator, prepared and executed 15 rigorous battle readiness fire and flooding casualty simulations, providing outstanding training to the crew in casualty response. As Work Center Supervisor, Nehemiah ensured the accomplishment of over 450 maintenance items, totaling 480-man hours of work, directly contributing to the ship's combat readiness. As Diesel Petty Officer, his motivation and attention to detail was crucial in the planning preparations and execution of two diesel governor replacements with zero deficiencies.


  • Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (December 31st, 2022) - Completed 4 deterrent patrols, 3 dry docking refits, and 6 waterborne refit periods executing over 2,000 Trident Refit Facility and Ship's Force re-tests. As Work Center Supervisor and Diesel Petty Officer, Nehemiah planned and oversaw the execution of critical maintenance of all ship's auxiliary equipment which involved over 500,000-man hours of work. These actions were pivotal to the USS Henry M. Jackson receiving the Engineering "E" award, Battle Efficiency "E" award and USSTRACTCOM Omaha Trophy.
