Correctional Sergeant in the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for 19 years. I was trained in multiple type of control techniques including extensive training in verbal skills to de-escalate situations, physical tools to control a subject while doing the least amount of harm as necessary, and use of intermediate weapons (OC, Baton, Shield). I am very proficient in using verbal judo. A technique that allows me to control the vast majority of incidents without resorting to any physical action. A large part of the job was documentation and organization of 5-7 staff and upwards of 260 inmates. In my 19 years with the DOC I was given 2 awards for excellence in my job performance, and was never given any negative performance reviews.
