Work History

Project 1

Florida International University, FIU
01.2023 - 12.2023

Manufacturing Embedded Force Sensors in 3D Printed Parts

  • Successfully utilized combination of conductive and nonconductive Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) filaments, along with lattice structures to create and 3D print unified force sensor-part system using Prusa i3 MK3S+ FDM 3D Printer.
  • Designed CAD models of 5mm and 10mm unit cell body centered-cubic lattice structure test cube with both cubes having great flexibility using Fusion 360 software.
  • Completed simulations using ANSYS software to collect data on deformation, stress, and strain of 5mm and 10mm unit cell test cubes to examine how forces between1-60N(Newton) influenced prototype under different loading conditions.
  • Completed compression testing on 5mm and 10mm cubes using MTS Criterion Electromechanical test system Model C41 and created calibration chart to review direct correlation change of resistance based on different linear forces applied to cubes.

Project 2

Florida International University, FIU
12.2022 - 12.2022

Straight Vs. Swept Wings Project

  • Completed two cad models of .0276 m swept wing and straight wing design in Solidsworks using NASA SC(2)-0714 Supercritical airfoil.
  • Conducted dynamic simulations of wing model and prototype designs in Solidworks at 89.408 m/s and 343.2 m/s respectively to analyze, drag, lift, and velocity properties of airflow passing over top surface of airfoils.
  • Research findings include that compared to straight wing, swept wing split airflow into two direction spanwise and chordwise flow eliminating shockwaves at Mach speeds allowing greater speeds.
  • Further research and data concluded that swept design eliminated drag by 9.52% at higher speeds, and decreased airflow velocity over top surface of wings by 3.24% highlighting benefits of swept wing design.
