Working as a valet attendant isn't a stereotypical easy job as most people would think. The job doesn't just entail parking cars. The Jw Marriott at Tampa Water Street is where i work and whom the Car Park has partnered with, as well as a ton of other locations throughout the city of Tampa including the Edition, a 5 star hotel. Considering the location, it is required us valets bring our absolute A game to maintain those 5 stars. After all, the first thing guests encounter is us valets upon entering the hotel. I've acquired a ton of skills through this job:
Starting off at Vivint as a door to door sales representative, my first couple days of knocking was in Florida in areas close to home including Clearwater, St Pete, Spring Hill, Tampa, etc. Traveled to Vero Beach, Port St. Lucie, and West Palm Beach with my team of 30 guys, stayed there for a week, working 6 days out of the 7. In April our team moved to Long Island, New York to work for the whole summer...19 hour drive in a state I have never been to. The job entailed getting dropped off in a neighborhood we've never been in, knocking from 1pm to 10pm everyday. Not going to bed until 1-2am. Waking up at 8am to go to gym, then have training with the team at 11am, correlation at 12pm, then on the way to the doors. 6 out of 7 days we worked for 20 weeks, 50 hours a week. To say the least my work ethic has improved tremendously. With this job I also handled rejection 99% of the time; however, every "no" is just a step closer to a "yes", without patience there's no way I would have survived. Considering Im on 100% commission, every minute I was out there counted. Out of the 30 guys on my team, I knew about 4 of them. This being said, I built a bond with my team and created long term friendships with these guys. Team chemistry was a key ingredient for our sales team to produce. I also developed the skill to pay attention to detail because with door to door sales you it is a must that you collect all the intel you can when knocking. For example, prospecting the driveway to see if the homeowner is home, if the lights are on and their is sign of life, if the home has cameras already(I'm selling smarthome security), etc. Being on point and taking every detail into account helped me increase my sales production throughout the summer... Although I just completed arguably one of the hardest challenges in my life, I can say I have developed numerous skills, and have rounded into a better overall person. If you can sell a product on the door to a stranger, you can sell anything. I took a huge sacrifice; however, at a minimum, becoming a door-to-door sales representative helped me develop good habits, thick skin, persistence and outstanding people skills.
My job consisted of carrying around a bus tub and visiting used tables, gathering used dishes and cups, and bringing them back to the dishwasher. Some shifts I worked as a host which entailed me walking costumers to their table.
While working at Greenwise market I learned how to deliver amazing customer service attributes. They are deliberate in making sure to put our customers first. With this being said, I would be more than happy to deliver those same attributes where is needed!
