Mobile Maintenance Supervisor

  • Supervisor of 8 mechanics (2 roaming), 2 lube techs, multiple contractors, EMS coordinator, welders and currently 2 apprentices over the course of day and night shifts
  • Scheduling and tracking repairs for a fleet of 38 pieces of heavy equipment and 18 pieces of support equipment (service trucks, backhoes, compressors, etc.) in order to maintain a minimum of 92% availability.
  • Manage and track yard loader performance between 3 sales yards and scheduling repairs (7 980’s)
  • Manage where we stand in a piece of equipment’s life cycle and spec out its replacement
  • Developing and managing an annual budget for all major repairs to ensure that we are staying on track with cost for the site, efficiently and effectively
  • Including capitalized projects such as re-powers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with various vendors and contractors
  • Research frequently new systems that can have a positive impact on equipment performance and safety
  • Coordinate downtime with other departments supervisor with the goal of minimum downtime
  • Assist and fill in for all other supervisors when needed, this includes overseeing and conducting blasting activities along with assisting them with creating budgets
  • Key role in developing a successful apprenticeship program
  • Track and analyze fluid sampling to prevent unexpected failures

Accomplishments

- A year of extensive cost/performance tracking between different G.E.T. brands to find our best fit for the application. Doing this I was able to secure several deals with ESCO of which we received entire cutting edges for free with the purchase of a simple set of teeth. Once converting our fleet this resulted in a 38% savings in just the first year.

- Through downtime tracking, part availability and machine performance I was able to justify replacing a Manitiwoc 4600 lattice boom crane used in duty cycle application. After several trips to visit machines with Sennebogen I was able to spec out a new machine through them and work with powers to be in Vulcan creating a presentation to have cooperate approve a 5 million dollar purchase.
