Musician and Hard Worker who is passionate and eager to jump in head first and become a Fan Engagement Specialist. Ready to learn what is needed to do the best job possible.
Just as some people collect stamps and marbles and seaglass, I have collected passions my whole life. I fear that I have so many, I am starting to lose track; however, one of my biggest passions is one of the reasons why I am applying for this job: music. I started playing piano when I was twelve, and immediately fell head in heels in love with music. I never before had realized how much complexity goes into the most simple songsthe way melodies are built out of chords and chords shift from one to another like kaleidoscopic beings dancing and weaving between my fingers. I saw these patterns everywhere in music; and it made me want to do more. Now I also play guitar; have made a few attempts at singing; a touch of upside down bass(I'm left handed) and hopefully soon a squeeze of drums as well. Piano will always be my mother tongue however. Because of this, I started to read about many musicians and songwritersLennon and McCartney, Chopin and Lizst, Prince and David Bowie; Jimi Hendrix and Brian May; Robert Smith and Thom Yorke. It lit a fire in me to not only play my interpretations of their pieces; but also make my own as well. I've written little melodies and diddies since I started piano; but I never have been a strong lyric writer. I notice that the more melodies I expose myself; the easier it is to write them.
Another major passion in my life is painting. While it may seem like painting has nothing to do with this job, it in reality has taught me a lot for instance, it helped me to teach myself how to work through problems and keep going when you fail. It taught me to watch and look at things in a new light not just to assume, but to really look, really listen when I am observing the world around me, because there are beauty and important information hidden in the corners and the shadows of what we say and do. In reality, painting and drawing are my first loves the things I've done my entire life. While music is still so new and exciting to me as I only started learning piano six years agoart is something lifelong. since I was a toddler I've submerged myself in the art world whether it be taking every art class I could as soon as I could; drawing on hundreds of leafy sketchbook pages; visiting every museum; and even putting some of my work in art shows. I draw and paint everything: from birds to skeletons to buildings to clouds. Music and Painting are both forms of art, they are things I love equally, and they have transformed the way I see and listen to the world.
I also draw my garden every year planting and designing; and as a result, a living breathing sculpture emerges. So many lovely things grow in my garden I grow as many things as I can that I can't find in a grocery store from red hinnomaki gooseberries and pink champagne currants; boysenberries and golden raspberries; to heritage galaxy tomatoes in a paintbox of colors; to long chinese red noodle beans and lemon cucumbers. My garden is part of my art; and it's also my retreat from life even a studio in some aspects. It is something I am proud of, as it takes hours and hours of physical hard work every year, as well as hours of meticulous planning, researching, and designing. My garden is evidence of a hard work ethic and the quality of perseverance.
