Researcher, Western University of Health Sciences, 11/2018, 05/2022, Dr. David Shofler, Developing a 3D Printed cast for the Management of Charcot Foot. Designed a polycarbonate plastic prototype leg cast to expedite recovery times and avoid furthering/preventing cumulative injuries in patients suffering from Charcot foot. Data from the prototype was collected on a TekScan F-Scan device to record dorsal and plantar pressures of the foot and lower leg. Comparisons to existing cam walkers and other casts were used to determine optimal offloading.
