  • With a lapping compound we would ensure that the two surfaces between the disc and the shaft are correctly mated.
  • Prepped and tightened bolts for run out to ensure that the shaft and disc are mating properly and the concentricity between the two mating surfaces are within .001.
  • Drilled into shaft and disc according to maintenance manual to get rid of corrosion, scores, metal fatigue in the holes.
  • According to the maintenance manual we would drill up .005 increments depending on original holes on shaft and disc.
  • During the final stages of reaming the QC would double check cuts and holes for the shaft and disc. To be exact they would check readings and blue bed on taper bolts to ensure proper fitment for newly reamed holes.

Fan Cell Technician

  • Conducts necessary troubleshooting and/or repair (either on or off wing) on turbine engines.
  • Disassembly and assembly of various models of turbine engines according to sequence utilizing aircraft tools, balance machines, surface grinders, drill presses, and other equipment for repair and/or overhaul.
