Collaborated with the Neuro Medical-Surgical unit at Stony Brook University Hospital to develop a proposed solution for pain assessments in non-communicative patients. Utilizing Melnyk's 7 Steps Evidence-Based Practice, our team analyzed case studies and applied critical thinking to create a solution that could reduce patient suffering.
Outcome: Project selected for implementation by the Neuro unit, with over 40 nurses trained within two weeks on improved pain assessment methods for non-communicative patients. Key components of the solution will be integrated into practice, aiming to enhance patient care and reduce suffering. Scheduled to present findings at Stony Brook School of Nursing’s Annual Research Day in May 2025.
