Over 15 years working in the restaurant industry, retail plant nursery, and now 2 plus years remodeling houseboats. The years of experiences have allowed me to gain a better understanding of how to be diligent, focused and always trying to improve and learn as an employee and person. I come from a hard working family, that instilled great work ethic.

Construction Laborer

Remodel and repair houseboats in Dry Dock. Took part in re-sheeting roofs, replacing side boards, building new patio covers, hanging new siding, replacing old windows, flooring, basic plumbing/electrical, solar installs, pontoon coating and many other demo and re-build projects. I gained experience using hand tools daily like impacts, drills, tape measure, grinders, sanders, multi-tool, reciprocating saw, skill saw, table saw, various nail guns, caulking gun, hydraulic jacks, and all the necessary hand tools to complete these various jobs. Confident on ladders of various sizes. Safety is always the focus when using any of these tools or ladders. I strive to be organized, clean, communicate clearly, and most of all be safe. I have really enjoyed this job, always something new to learn but its inconsistent work pattern has me looking for a new great opportunity.

Learned numerous new plants and trees for retail sales on this beautiful 2 acres plant nursery and gift shop. Watered multiple times throughout everyday, re-organized retail plant areas as needed, interacted with recommendations for customers daily. Ran cash register regularly, trusted with opening and closing duties, took on special projects, and unloaded truck shipments weekly. Great job!

Learned and executed regularly over 30 sushi rolls in a high volume kitchen on weekends. Responsible for daily set up and break down of personal work space. Prepared fresh vegetables, side dishes and sushi toppings for weekends. Hand sharpened knives daily, prepared sushi rice, plated sushi rolls neatly, worked tempura station, and washed dishes nightly. Looking for new challenges I accepted an offer to join the management team, starting as hourly shift leader, while still bartending. I did this for 2 years and it proved to be challenging and rewarding. I soon accepted a promotion to become full time salaried manager part of a 5 person team in a 300 person capacity family restaurant and sports bar. Learned daily books, scheduling, being the onsite manager, dealing directly with public interaction good and bad. Four years of full time management experience lead to being promoted to general manager, responsible for staffing, ordering (food, beer, liquor), advertising, all onsite financial decisions, oversight of daily operations, interacting weekly with home office administration.
