What God has done

I grew up in this very Assembly of God church and have been a Christian as long as I can remember. I had never planned of being in the ministry but God has opened door after door and gave us a heart for people that I never thought I would have. I have worked for my parents full time since July of 1997 to current and have done anything from managing a tire shop to working at various plants for maintenance to the last 15 years being a property manager of between 70 to 80 properties.

In 2003 God opened up a door for us to be the Children's Pastor/Coordinator for First Pentecostal Assembly of God in Ottumwa. When we walked through that door we had no idea what God had in store for us. While we were there we lead, organized, and built a Children's program. This included Sunday School, Children's Church, Wednesday night activities, Bible Quiz, Fall Fun Fest, Christmas Programs, Easter Dramas, and much more. In 2012 we felt God it was time to be done and take a break for a while or in my thought for good and just go attend church somewhere but God had other plans. While on our break lol we I ended up of the worship team and we did started doing children's activities there to. Then in 2015 God opened up yet another door that was unexpected. The First Christian Church in Eddyville called us and wanted us to start a youth program in their church even though they only had 10 people. So we prayed about it and felt like God said we were supposed to go and we did. We went to work and with the help of God we started to build a children's and youth/teens program. So, within the first 2 years we organized and plan a complete church remodel the church grew to about 30 and we some kids and some youth. Then the Senior Pastor announced in September of 2014 he would be leaving that December. During the time of looking for a Pastor they had no luck and I felt like God said you need to apply as to which I ignored for about a month. But then I finally said ok God whatever you a have and in February of 2015 we became the Senior/Youth Pastor of the First Christian Church. We continued in striving to build the church and God's kingdom to the point that we ran out of room. So, in fall of 2022 we expanded our Sanctuary and build a multipurpose room to plan for the future growth of the church. So, as of this year the church is  running roughly 80 to 100 on Sundays and 60 to 90 kids on Wednesday nights.

I explain all of this so you can see the growth that God has done in us and the amount of doors he has opened because none of that would of been possible without Christ at the center of it. We love God and feel he has calling us to full time ministry. He has laid this church on our heart heavily and with much prayer and consideration we feel he has told us to apply for the Senior Pastor position.
