Nicholas Kensler

I have Asperger's syndrome. I received a Special Education Diploma from Tate High School. After graduation, I was allowed to work as an intern in a special program called Project Search at the University of West Florida. In the Project Search Program, I worked in four programs and learned many job skills.

Assistant Librarian John Pace Library

• I ensured that the books on the shelves were in the proper order according to the Library of Congress system and that no book was out of place. I would also go to the
• I checked in and out books for students at the front desk.
• In the Media Room, where the library housed its DVD collection, I arranged the DVDs so they were all in the proper order under the Library of Congress system.
• I dusted the bookshelves.

Barista in the café

• As a barista, I served various caffeinated drinks and quickly adapted to learning how to make them.
• I operated the cash register and learned to give exact change to people.
• I wiped the counter on occasion when it got dirty.
• I interacted and was polite to customers.

Busboy

• I worked as a busboy at the University of West Florida Commons.
• I wiped tables with a hand wipe and took dishes to the sink and soaked them in water and then to the the dishes dishwashing room.
• Load them into the dishwashers.
• I then took the clean dishes and stacked them in the kitchen for the cooks to put new food on them.

Recreation Staff at the Fitness Center

• I let students into the Fitness Center with a computer to verify they could use the facility.
• I handed them towels.
• Once the students finished with the towels and returned them to me, I put them in a basket.
• Once the basket was full, I washed and dried the towels, then folded them in a neat pile.
