History Teacher

Foxborough Regional Charter School
01.2009 - 06.2017
  • My primary role at the Foxborough Regional Charter School is that of a classroom teacher. For the past seven years I have taught four sections of 8th Grade World History II and one section of 11th and 12th Grade Ancient History. As a long term substitute teacher in 2009 I taught freshman and sophomore sections of United States History I and II. Along with colleagues in the History Department I annually help prepare our students to partake in the academic competition National History Day on three levels: locally, regionally, and statewide.
  • Employed appropriate teaching methods to cater to individual educational needs of each student.
  • Fostered a positive classroom atmosphere encouraging open communication between peers and instructor alike.

Student Council Advisor Class of 2020

Foxborough Regional Charter School
01.2016 - 06.2018
  • My role in this position has been to plan events, dances, fundraisers, socials and athletic events in conjunction with the student run Council of 2020. I have advised students in creation of the council, including its charter, structure, order, officers, and the formation of committees. The Council of 2020 is the first council at FRCS to utilize Robert's Rules of Order based upon my counsel.
  • Empowered students to take ownership of their learning environment by involving them in decision-making processes related to school policies and programs.
  • Managed budgets for all Student Council functions, ensuring responsible allocation of funds to necessary projects and events.

Senior Independent Enrichment Advisor

Foxborough Regional Charter School
01.2014 - 06.2018
  • My role in this position is as advisor to seniors in our SIE program, a full year capstone course during which students do research in post-secondary academics and/or career fields. Seniors under my care have developed programs such as Artist Development, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Musicianship Career Path. In conjunction with my counsel students develop a unique curriculum exploring a field of study with significant meaning in their own lives.

Coffee House Advisor

Foxborough Regional Charter School
01.2009 - 06.2017
  • Coffee house is a performing arts event that I coordinate twice a year. Along with the student run committee I oversee all aspects of the event including organization, auditions, advertisement, planning.

Varsity Head Basketball Coach

Foxborough Regional Charter School
01.2015 - 01.2016
  • I was the Head Basketball Coach of the Varsity Boy's team for 2 seasons. The teams that I had the honor of coaching were marked by a strong sense of unity and discipline; we sure did have a lot of fun while achieving many of our goals. I am proud of the team's accomplishments during my tenure as coach as we have earned a hard fought record of 12 - 14; we made the playoffs each season and we never lost in the first round. I designed a vigorous practice routine focused on fundamentals, strategy, and sportsmanship.

Audubon Club Instructor

Foxborough Regional Charter School
01.2009 - 01.2016
  • I am an avid member of the Audubon Society and regularly share my activities and interests in this area with my students on an informal basis. Last year during the Great Horned Owl incubation period, I had a live feed displayed in my classroom of a mother owl tending to her brood in the swamps of Savannah, Georgia. In years past prior to the administrations restructuring of the club schedule I was able to conduct a Bird Watcher's Club during which students would participate in eBird, the building of bird houses, the upkeep of feeders, and learn the basics of ornithology.

Paraprofessional

Foxborough Regional Charter School
01.2007 - 01.2009
  • My original position at FRCS and my first position as an educator. My responsibilities involved the implementation and design of services for students on IEP plans. In this role I supported curriculum access for IEP students in inclusive and small group settings. I collaborated with core classroom teachers on a weekly basis in the development and implementation of both curriculum and strategies of learning for these students.
