Capstone Project about the effects of prescribed burns on the ranchlands in South Texas

  • Did research for an entire semester about La Copita Ranch in Alice, Texas.
  • Talked with the ranch manager about conservation efforts on the property.
  • Consulted with firefighters who deal with wildfires about their techniques for doing burns.
  • Took percentages of the invasive grass species before and after burns took place on the ranch.
  • Finalized and presented our findings on a poster board to the head of the research project.
