My duties are to respond to service calls as soon as possible, diagnosing any issue that they may have with the forklift & repairing the machine to make sure the customer can continue running. I have a service van with my own tools in it , I will drive anywhere within 2 hours of Idaho Falls. I also will do general preventative maintenance to make sure an entire fleet runs smooth & immediately bring up any issues that may cause a delay in production. Complete engine or transmission teardown and rebuild.
Travel anywhere any Idaho steel equipment is installed & had to do
whatever would be necessary to complete the job. It was very important to have problem solving skills because my crew was called when a problem wasn't able to be fixed by the facilities maintenance crew.
I was in charge of a
crew of 3, running a drum straightening system.
This included recoating & straightening potato flake drums within .001", then polishing to a specific value.
I would regularly weld stainless steel TIG, MIG and stick welding. We would drive within 12 hours at a moments notice or pack out equipment into a container to be shipped to a location.

Peters Hobby Shop was a local vintage automobile restoration shop that would restore anything a customer would want, but specialized in BMW's. I was a mechanic working mainly on automobile restoration instead of repair. This included many different skills such as body work prep, searching for very difficult to find parts by networking in the Pacific Northwest BMW community or problem solving by figuring out how to fix certain parts that aren't available anymore.
