My duties are to respond to service calls as soon as possible, diagnosing any issue that they may have with the forklift & repairing the machine to make sure the customer can continue running. I have a service van with my own tools in it , I will drive anywhere within 2 hours of Idaho Falls. I also will do general preventative maintenance to make sure an entire fleet runs smooth & immediately bring up any issues that may cause a delay in production. Complete engine or transmission teardown and rebuild.

Travel anywhere any Idaho steel equipment is installed & had to do
whatever would be necessary to complete the job. It was very important to have problem solving skills because my crew was called when a problem wasn't able to be fixed by the facilities maintenance crew.

I was in charge of a
crew of 3, running a drum straightening system.
This included recoating & straightening potato flake drums within .001", then polishing to a specific value.
I would regularly weld stainless steel TIG, MIG and stick welding. We would drive within 12 hours at a moments notice or pack out equipment into a container to be shipped to a location.

Troubleshot equipment breakdowns to make sure another breakdown could be prevented. Performed preventative maintenance on potato processing equipment. Rebuilt and made conveyor belts, replaced bearings in large cookers. Maintained oven operations & maintenance of Zig Zac peeling systems. responded immediately to calls for mechanical breakdowns

Inspected all projects to verify alignment with blueprints

Followed Operational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations to promote safe equipment operation and workplace safety. Utilized welding equipment and tools to fabricate large components of the welding systems.

regularly welded mild steel with just MIG, but studied all types of welding & to understand the fundamentals to understand the systems I was building.

Operated & designed programs for cutting out metal on a plasma table.

Regularly used 20 ton overhead crane & transported equipment from loading Bay with a forklift.

Learned how to install & program PCB's and other control systems.

Peters Hobby Shop was a local vintage automobile restoration shop that would restore anything a customer would want, but specialized in BMW's. I was a mechanic working mainly on automobile restoration instead of repair. This included many different skills such as body work prep, searching for very difficult to find parts by networking in the Pacific Northwest BMW community or problem solving by figuring out how to fix certain parts that aren't available anymore.

Worked as an apprentice for the first year, but then moved into my own service bay. I did everything from wheel alignments to transmission repairs. I learned how to mount, dismount & balance wheels & tires. How to properly perform wheel alignments, A/C system servicing, transmission teardown & rebuild & complete engine rebuilds.

I was in charge of maintaining 6, 32' TPSB (Transportable Security Boat) platform. Doing everything from basic maintenance such as engine oil changes, outdrive servicing, or electrical system maintenance to modifying parts of the hull to retrofit improved revisions.

Worked directly with golfers that would come through the course. Helped manage events, made sure golf carts had been properly maintained, including battery maintenance, along with making sure that the facilities were clean and orderly.
