Artist Statement
My work lives at the intersection of culture, travel, and lived experience. I approach reporting through immersion - staying within communities, listening before documenting, and allowing stories to unfold naturally rather than staging moments. Whether living in a hostel home in Jamaica or navigating Iceland during winter, my goal is to understand how people interact with their environment, history, and each other. I use photography and documentary video as reporting tools, not just visual aesthetics. My work focuses on capturing emotion, rhythm, and cultural nuance - the quiet moments, daily rituals, and human connections that define a place beyond tourism. I aim to create stories that feel intimate, honest, and grounded, allowing audiences to experience culture as it is lived, not just observed.
