  • Most recently, I held the position of Lieutenant within the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office. This position is ultimately responsible for the success of all safety and activities of his or her shift while on duty. The Lieutenant is the first line of communication between higher lever department leadership and key top legal employees (Judges, Lawyers, other law enforcement agencies) and the facility itself. I rolled out new systems and processes to ensure that my team was trained to RPSO standards.
  • I was approached by top leadership to be a lead for building and implementing our new total operations system for the facility. I helped map the current processes and made recommendations for process improvements across the facility as well as the system. I was also responsible for the overall success of the implementation.
  • I held the charge of ensuring shift staffing and employment to run an effective team. I ensured accuracy and completeness of all shift processes and documents while effectively training employees at all levels to complete their work. I provided leadership and recognized employees that were contributing well and held themselves accountable for their responsibilities and developed them to continue growing in their careers.

  • As Sergeant, I was responsible for the overall safety and security of my team, incarcerated offenders, and the facility as a whole. I managed the logistics for all offender intakes and releases while ensuring 100% accuracy through critical detail orientation, while maintaining high efficiency. It was critical that I had a high level of organization and process accuracy. I also have a strong eye for identifying process opportunities; I made several recommendations to leadership for process and system improvements. I was the first line leader of the Corporal for our facility and ensured that our shift ran successfully. If the Lieutenant was not present within the facility, I would have assumed those duties as well.

I was ultimately responsible for managing issues within the facility and resolving conflicts between offenders. I managed facility systems to ensure accuracy.   • As a Deputy, I was responsible for the care, custody, and control of incarcerated offenders. I committed myself to learning everything that was available to me in order to provide the best service to the facility and my coworkers, as collaboration and ensuring each other’s safety was extremely critical. In addition to working my expected duties, I learned the facility’s computer programs and systems, detailed protocols, and other general operations essential to running the facility to gain added responsibilities.

Affected customers were highly stressed due to the nature of the recent events, and it was essential that I accurately worked my claim projects while effectively managing customer emotions. I am adaptable and comfortable in high stress environments, and I can work well in situations in which customers are demanding.
