  • Works in the post anesthesia care unit (PACU) by assisting bedside nurses with direct patient care
  • Required to work with several service lines ranging from ICU/Trauma/Med-Surg/Neuro/Ortho/GYN
  • Assist by making sure all equipment is placed at the bedside preemptively ready for use
  • This includes sequential compression devices, IV pumps, and any other items that are used depending on procedure
  • Performs 12 lead EKGs on patients when ordered
  • Making sure patients are comfortable, repositioned, and assisted to the restroom when needed by utilizing a bedside commode, purewick, bed pan, or the restroom
  • Makes occupied beds, and cleans up after an episode of incontinence, and assists with clothing changes
  • Helps transfer patients from bed to gurney, or gurney to wheelchair
  • Responsible for the care and documentation of the output from foley catheters, and Jackson-Pratt drains.
