  • Assist small law firm owners with the creation of a viable business plan & budget that ensured the 7 Main Parts of the Business would work together to help the owner(s) meet their personal, professional, and financial goals

  • Led the annual strategic planning process and quarterly metrics reviews to ensure organizational strategy remained flexible to capitalize on trends and developments in the law, best practices in law firm management, business and law firm technology, leadership and employee development, and general administration
  • Developed, implemented, and maintained more than 1500 supportive internal policies and standard operating procedures as well as automations, business intelligence dashboards
  • Created and implemented robust new employee onboarding programs and weekly continuing legal education with the Training Director
  • Accountable for the support staff operations that ensured 100+ attorneys could deliver legal representation to all court-appointed clients, including direct oversight of non-attorney support staff managers (e.g., the managers of the customer service, data entry, discovery, data quality, and legal departments)
  • In-house legal advisor to elected Public Defender and senior leadership, acting as a partner with Human Resources, Finance, and Information Technology, handling employment, contract, and risk management matters
  • Public Defender’s liaison with and representative to local and statewide boards and committees dealing with court operations as well as justice policy and appropriations
  • Oversaw the Florida Public Defender Association statewide criminal defense 'case weighting' study (largest project of its kind at the time)
  • Consulted with Public Defender offices to assist with special projects relating to operations, technology, training, and leadership
  • Applied for and administered more than $500,000 in special grant funding to keep the firm 'whole' and compensate for reduced criminal justice appropriations
  • Developed and presented more than 600 hours of training for new employees and continuing education seminars for attorneys, investigators, and legal assistants
  • Criminal defense for people accused of criminal offenses at all stages from case intake, discovery, negotiation, trial preparation, jury selection, and final disposition
