During my short time at Sacred Heart I have provided care to patients across the spectrum of ages and acuity. I have NIHSS stroke certification, trauma care in a Level 3 certified center, and was able to provide care to a high volume of the behavioral health community at this facility. Unfortunately, this much needed facility is closing to the Eau Claire area.

During my time at Marshfield Medical Center I functioned in the role of ER Charge Nurse. I have been able to contribute my years of knowledge and experience to improve the department flow, provide education to developing new staff, and establishing improvements in communication with in my department as well as with in the facility to improve patient care and care transitions. I also had the opportunity to contribute my knowledge and experience as our department transitioned to a combined Urgent Care and ER care model.

Most recently, I have transitioned to gain experience as a PACU/Pre Op RN. I have enjoyed and thrived with this learning opportunity and have quickly become a teaching resource for my coworkers as well as PACU charge nurse.

I have had the opportunity to gain experience in various aspects of emergency medical care from critical access hospitals to large trauma centers. I have provided care in 19 emergency rooms through out Wisconsin and Minnesota over my 9 years of travel nursing. My duties have included new staff training, Charge Nurse, rapid stabilization care in acute trauma, and working with ICU step down patients on Cardiac Care units. I have had the opportunity to participate in various departmental development programs such as Stroke certification, Trauma certification, development of a Rapid Response team, collaborating with local Fire and EMS for community car seat and bicycle helmet safety training. I have also participated in HAZMAT training and Mass Casualty drills.

After completing a travel assignment I signed on as Per Diem staff. During my time at Lakeview I have had the opportunity to participate in improvement of the facility Stroke program, participated in the Lean program to reduce departmental waste, and continue to contribute my experience and knowledge to departmental needs and new staff orientation.

After completion of a travel assignment I accepted a Per Diem position at Amery Emergency Room. During my travel and Per Diem time, my experience was pivotal in establishing nursing charting standards, developing the Stroke and Trauma programs, and participating in departmental safety improvements with behavioral health patients in collaboration with my department manager.

During my time at Oakleaf I provided post operative care to a variety of patients including joint replacement, spinal surgery, general surgery, and gynecological surgery patients. I also had the opportunity to provide orientation and education to new staff.

I provided care in both critical access and trauma centers as well as ICU step down cardiac procedure patients. I provided orientation and training to new staff, Charge Nurse in an all travel nurse night shift ER, and Medical Surgical unit care.
