Wanting to make a difference in wildlife and fisheries management in Minnesota and help assist in the maintenance of our ecosystems to allow them to thrive for the future. IBI Fisheries Intern

  • Participated in IBI fish surveys to help determine productivity and efficiency in lakes across Minnesota.
  • Sampled smaller fish such as minnows, darters, shiners, and sunfish by electro-fishing and seine netting.
  • Pulled and set trap nets and gill nets to catch bigger fish like walleye, bass, Northern Pike, and other species.
  • Pulled boat trailers and traveled long distances with equipment.
  • Participated in TDO tests to determine the water quality of lakes across Minnesota.
