Nicolas Ruth

Currently studying at the University of Denver for Mechanical Engineering. I graduated East High School in May of 2023 with an unweighted GPA of 3.8. During my time at East I involved myself with extra circular activities as well as pushing myself to take the hardest classes. For starters, I was enrolled in multiple Advanced Placement classes and received passing scores on all of the AP tests. The AP classes I took were:

• Chemistry
• Computer Science Principles
• World History

I also took a dual enrollment english class offered by the University of Colorado Boulder. This was my senior year and the scope of the class was to write and perfect a twenty page essay about a research topic of your choice. I wrote about the future of vehicular transport and what we need to do so that our planet does not fall to immense pollution.

While studying at East High School, I was also a part of multiple clubs and organizations.

• Mechanical Team Lead of my schools robotics team, through the First Robotics Organization. I was helping the team work together, as well as teaching new students how to use various machines, components, and tools to ultimately add to the final product (2021,2022,2023).
• Community Service Volunteer; member of the Colorado Young Leaders organization. Included weekly meetings and organized community service events, working to make the world and environment better, cleaner, and more sustainable (2023, not associated with East High School).
• Colorado Mile High Flight club member; biweekly meetings and events learning about aviation, its history, how planes work, how to fly, careers in the field, and the engineering behind planes (2022, 2023).

My past has made me very independent and self-reliant. I've had to teach myself countless things, and that on its own has taught me a fantastic work ethic, and I now know that I can learn anything if I try and give it the effort.
