Place IV catheters, endo-tracheal tubes, administer vaccines, medications, taking radiographs, and performing venipuncture.
Caring for animals pre-surgery, including administering anesthetics, maintaining patients under anesthesia, and caring for patients post-operation.
Restraining for veterinarians in examinations, acupuncture, and ultrasound. Ensures the safety of pets, clients, and associates by utilizing safe restraining techniques.
Provide pet owners with excellent customer service and compassionate care for their pets. Pleasantly greet customers and escort them to examination rooms. Communicate clearly about medication instructions, surgery discharges, and veterinarian recommendations.
Clean kennels, examination rooms, operating rooms, and laboratory areas.
Perform prophylactic cleaning, monitor anesthesia, and assist veterinarians in dental surgery.
Assist in compassionate euthanasia.
Train other LVTs and veterinary assistants in operations and procedures.
Answer customer telephone calls promptly to avoid on-hold wait times and answer owner animal health questions to advise on best care practices.
