Highly driven, task oriented Sheriff's Office employee that takes pride in assisting our Law Enforcement partners, Detention Staff & the Yuma County public with the utmost accurate information regarding bookings, releases and court updates for inmates within our Jail facility. Duties include but are not limited to:
*Receives/Reviews/Processes inmate data, booking forms & documents received from arresting agencies.
*Creates or updates existing jackets to record all changes in status of an inmate, such as transfers, court dates, release or change in charges
*Examines, and interprets Yuma County Court orders, order to detain, sentencing, & release documents to verify validity of each prisoner in custody or release status; follows guidelines of Yuma County legal jurisdiction, court mandates and departmental policy.
*Monitors and assesses activity/movement around the booking/admitting areas on an ongoing basis; reports security violations or emergency situations to Supervisors, Booking Officers, Sgts & Master Control.
*Prepares follow-up correspondence or calls to the public, other Law Enforments agencies and Court jurisdictions obtain additional information or to respond to inquiries;
*Operates a variety of office machines, computer software, security cameras, audio and communication equipment, to include two-way radios.
*Prepares and processes confidential and sensitive documents such as but not limited to Warrants checks in NCIJIS; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, inmate records, and other restricted information
*Compiles reports and summaries of work; receives funds from the public for inmates’ accounts for deposit during Intake or distributing upon release
*Monitors Officer movement within the Sheriffs Office as well as outside Law Enforcement Agencies to ensure that all Officers with firearms, ammunition and other weapons are secured in a gun locker before movement into & within the facility.
*May assist with special projects, program assignments, and research studies as requested by any Jail Supervisor if requested & will provide results with the expert accuracy.
