USAF
11.2019 - Current
  • As an Aerospace Medical Technician in the Air National Guard, I provide frontline medical care in both clinical and field environments, supporting a wide range of healthcare operations, from trauma response to preventive care. This role has given me hands-on experience in emergency medicine, mass casualty response, and patient triage under pressure.
  • Key responsibilities and experiences include:
  • Emergency and Trauma Care: Deliver immediate care in emergency situations, including airway management, bleeding control, splinting, wound care, and CPR. Trained to rapidly assess and stabilize patients in austere or chaotic environments.
  • Clinical Operations: Support primary and acute care within a clinical setting, assisting in patient evaluations, vitals monitoring, immunizations, medication administration, and documentation in accordance with military protocols.
  • Pediatric and Adult Patient Care: Provide care across all age groups, with experience administering immunizations and monitoring developmental needs in pediatric populations during routine and emergent care scenarios.
  • Medical Readiness and Education: Serve as a BLS and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) instructor, educating fellow medics and support personnel in life-saving interventions and readiness protocols.
  • Decontamination (DECON) and Disaster Response: Member of the patient DECON team, trained in chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) incident response, including mass casualty decontamination procedures.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Act as an Immunizations Back-up Technician (IBT) specialist, coordinating immunization campaigns and ensuring compliance with military health standards. Regularly collaborate with nurses, providers, and support personnel in fast-paced team settings.

Registered Nurse Extern – Emergency Department

Loma Linda University Medical Center
05.2024 - 04.2025
  • As an RN Extern in a busy Emergency Department, I work alongside experienced RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely, high-quality care to patients across the lifespan. This role has provided me with hands-on exposure to emergency medicine and the opportunity to build critical clinical skills under the mentorship of seasoned professionals.
  • Key responsibilities and experiences include:
  • Direct Patient Care: Assist in triage, assessments, medication administration, IV starts, wound care, splinting, and EKGs. Monitor vital signs and report critical changes to supervising RNs or providers.
  • High-Acuity Environment Exposure: Participate in the care of trauma, cardiac, stroke, pediatric, and behavioral health patients, learning to respond efficiently under pressure.
  • Team Collaboration: Support interdisciplinary communication during rapid responses, codes, and transfers. Shadow RNs during critical interventions and observe physician procedures for continuous learning.
  • Patient Advocacy and Education: Provide compassionate support to patients and families during times of crisis, ensuring they understand care plans, discharge instructions, and next steps.
  • Time Management and Prioritization: Learn to manage multiple patients and evolving clinical situations, gaining confidence in prioritizing tasks and recognizing signs of patient deterioration.

LVN II In-Home Chronic Pediatrics

Prime Home Health
07.2022 - 01.2024
  • As an LVN providing in-home care for pediatric patients, I delivered skilled nursing services to medically fragile children with chronic and acute health needs. This role demanded not only technical competence, but also the ability to build trust with patients and families, work independently, and provide care in a nurturing, family-centered manner.
  • Key responsibilities and experiences include:
  • Skilled Nursing Care: Administered medications, managed feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, and oxygen therapy. Monitored vital signs, performed physical assessments, and reported changes in condition to physicians and care teams.
  • Chronic and Complex Condition Management: Cared for children with conditions such as cerebral palsy, seizure disorders, genetic syndromes, and developmental delays, supporting daily living and medical needs while promoting safety and comfort.
  • Care Coordination and Documentation: Maintained accurate, timely nursing documentation in compliance with state and agency protocols. Collaborated closely with case managers, physicians, and therapists to ensure continuity of care.
