I am an experienced educator prepared for the challenge of a new and different role in my career.
My teaching career started in the Bondurant-Farrar Community school district as the first Early Childhood Special Education teacher. I was tasked with the opportunity to pioneer that program and I diligently worked to morph it into a fully inclusive Early Childhood Program serving children from the general population and children with special needs. Following my 7 years of program development in ECSE, I continued my service as a Kindergarten teacher. This teaching position and the growing needs of the community then lead me to pioneer yet another program for the district. Given time to research regulations, educational standards, and appropriate curriculum, I developed the districts Transitional Kindergarten program. That program continues today as one of that districts most sought after programs.
In 2013 I began a new career journey at Heartland Area Education Agency. I have excelled as an Early Childhood Special Education Consultant and Early ACCESS developmental service provider. I am proficient at data-driven decision-making and posses collaborative leadership skills needed to to enhance early childhood education services. I have fostered strong partnerships with parents, achieving notable advancements in student success, instructional support and parental empowerment.
I believe I have been a thorough team contributor with strong organizational capabilities. I consider myself a life-long learner and have experience in handling numerous projects at once while ensuring accuracy, and prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines. With the combination of hands-on classroom experience and the role as an Early Childhood Special Education Consultant my resume speaks to both my passion for teaching and my ability to influence systemic change.
