I have spent the last 3+ years as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, MyMichigan Health Midland. There, I have had the opportunity to increase my skills in identifying patient changes, acute care needs, and assessment skills.
The hospital I am currently employed with has 324 licensed beds. Our Emergency Department can accommodate 34 patient beds, not including fast track. We are a level 2 trauma center. On campus we have a cardiac cath lab, primary stroke center, and a cancer center therefore I have gained much experience with each of these things during my employment at MyMichigan Health.
Through my 11 years spent working as a LPN, I have experience with LTC, Geriatric rehab, Pediatric home health, Corrections nursing, being a Charge Nurse, and more.
Volunteer History - Earned a EMT-B license and volunteered as an EMT at Edgewood Fire/EMS in Edgewood, KY 2013-2014. During this time I encountered a range of experiences including CPR, airway management, maintaining C-Spine to prevent further risk of injury, application of O2 and titration to maintain O2 SAT >90%, controlled bleeding, and lift assistance. I worked with a team to provide life saving efforts, within my scope of practice, for a positive outcome until care could be transferred to hospital staff.
