  • 2016 I was nominated and awarded Teacher of the week from camdenton school district for maintaining positive relationships with students, creating a positive and safe environment through classroom management and creating exciting and meaningful units for all students.
  • 2017 I was nominated by my principals and awarded Excellence in Education due to my dedication to my students, participating in several committees for school culture and student excellence and going above and beyond during the school day and outside of the school day by collaborating with students, creating and painting murals throughout Hurricane Deck Elementary. Also, living and implementing the 7 Habits from Leader in Me.
  • I was the 2nd-3rd grade robotics coach after school from 2017-2020.
  • In 2016, 2017 and 2018 I received a excellent teacher award from specific students for specific reasons they wrote a paragraph on and presented to me.
  • In 2017-2020 I implemented a outreach program “Bowls for Hinger or Empty Bowls” that grades 1st-4th participated in. Each grade level had a specific tasks to create, design and finish the bowls and then we would auction them off on Leadership days and donate ALL proceeds to the local food pantry.
  • I helped the other special teachers write a proposal to implement technology in our classrooms not just core classrooms.
  • During Student Teaching-I Applied I applied for and received a grant to further the students’ education and support technology. The art room was awarded $100.00 to purchase two Wacom Tablets to go with the two computers in the room.
  • 2012-2013 School year-I applied for and received a grant from “Pets in the Classroom”. Which I used to purchase a 10 gallon fish tank for the educational and entertainment purposes for the art room.
  • In 2011, 2012 and 2013 I had a student win the grand prize in the Osage County Soil and Water Poster Contest. Each student then went on and competed on the State level.
  • Since 2010, I have completed two different “green” friendly murals for our school using bottle caps, with the participation of all my students K-6.
